If you’re reading this, you are loved and chosen.
If you're reading this and feel like you aren’t worthy, I am here to tell you your story is still being written.
Someone wants to hug you, and someone is bragging on you right now.
Someone is looking up to you and is inspired by your path.
You can get through whatever feels like it’s weighing you down right now.
You will find your place.
Personally…
When first arriving at Clemson, I came with a plan and a goal.
I wanted to be in a sorority; I wanted to be a diamond in the rough, and nothing else would do. I wanted to be involved in every club possible, and I wanted to be friends with everyone. I needed to be chosen, but time after time doors were closed in my face.
I worried night after night about wasting my time here, that maybe I wasn’t in the right place. I cried and wedged myself in places I didn’t fit for 2 years, but I finally found my place!
I now hold a chair in our Student Government, where I have made the closest friends. I have made tangible change, and I feel included. My roommates I met here are people that I adore, and they truly appreciate me.
I found a Church that I love and feel welcomed at. I have a schedule, and I know someone on every hall I walk down. I have made genuine connections that will last a lifetime. I don’t cry myself to sleep at night anymore because I feel like I don’t belong! I AM where I belong. I have been chosen.
Someone is reading this who feels like they don’t fit in or aren’t chosen by some group that you long to be a part of, but don’t be discouraged. You are not alone. You have an entire campus filled with people waiting to meet you—a million opportunities for relationships and connections. You are loved, and you are important! You are at “home” here!
