If you’re reading this, it’s OK to take one step at a time.
Ever since I enrolled into college, my overthinking has gotten worse. I feel that I am under this greater pressure than I was before. I can never stop thinking about time. Specifically, time towards my assignments, time towards my studying, and time towards my leisure time. On the other hand, I remind myself that life is too short. I can’t constantly think about the concept of time. Currently, it is my senior year. I am proud of myself of everything that I have achieved. Especially, while being here at college. I was a member of WUSCFM, a member of a majorette team, and currently a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. My accomplishments make me stronger, and is a gentle reminder for me to embrace and soak in these successes. Your self-care is important in so many ways.
As I graduate, I hope to take time for myself to dwindle down. Specifically, to not feel guilty of having free time, or leisure time. “Time” should be applied in a positive light. Every little minute counts towards self care, and what makes you happy. It reminds us that it’s all going to be okay.
Sincerely,
Essence Cunningham, University of South Carolina
