If you’re reading this, balance is imperative during this stage of your life!

While your academic responsibilities are important, it is just as important to show up as the best version of yourself: well-rested, energized, and ready to take on the day. Although this may seem almost impossible at times, especially when life gets chaotic, prioritizing yourself in small, intentional ways can make a big difference in your performance. Please remember, taking care of yourself doesn't necessarily mean taking time away from your priorities; it's helping you complete them while avoiding burnout.

One of the ways I recommend taking care of yourself is setting aside time for something that makes you happy; playing games, going for a run, reading, or creating a craft. Small things like this make a difference in how you view your day and make you more motivated to complete your responsibilities. Another way I recommend to take care of yourself is to help the future you; stop setting aside tasks for tomorrow. Personal responsibilities and academic responsibilities can add up quickly, especially if you keep telling yourself “I’ll do it tomorrow.” However this can be resolved by managing your time efficiently via digital/physical calendar, planner, lists, and phone reminders! I would recommend to plan and set up your week every sunday so you enter the week prepared.

Ultimately please remember that you are human and you need to treat yourself as such; sleep as much as you can, eat according to your needs, and remember that this is a journey. Although life may feel stressful and hard sometimes, the sun always rises and tomorrow will come. Many other students have passed through this journey before and succeed, best of luck to you!
