Welcome to the hub

  • The Hub hosts bite-sized education on frequently discussed mental health topics.

At IfYoureReadingThis, we’re all about helping people feel comfortable talking about mental health so they can connect with friends, family, or mental health professionals. Since our founding in 2016, we’ve found that two major barriers to connection around mental health are #1 stigma, and #2 feeling like mental health requires a certain level of “expertise” to talk about.

While we strive to address barrier #1 through our letters, we decided there was more we could do to address barrier #2. We believe that everyone is an expert on their own mind and therefore everyone is qualified to talk about their mental health; however, we also understand that providing people with knowledge can help them feel more comfortable sharing their story, listening to the stories of others, seeking out care, or advocating for the change they wish to see. And that’s why we made The Hub.

The Hub aims to present high level (but still evidence-based and validated) information on mental health topics through a humanized lens. The Hub is meant to make daunting topics more approachable, by giving you the “need to know” and pointing you in the right direction if you want to know more.

Let’s learn about:

The current status of mental health in college students

The need-to-know on diagnoses, treatments, and current topics, written and edited by medical students for the everyday person
